Steven A. Young is an author, musician, and natural philosopher recognised for his work under the music alias Hedflux and as the author of A Fool's Wisdom: Science Conspiracies & The Secret Art of Alchemy (2024).

 

With a background in theoretical physics, holding both a Master of Science (MSci) and a PhD, Steven has carved an eclectic career at the crossroads of science, spirituality, and music.

After leaving academia in 2005, he established himself as an independent music producer.

From 2015 to 2018, Steven embarked on a period of spiritual exploration in Central America and Hawaii, immersing himself in shamanic traditions, alchemical studies,

and indigenous healing practices rooted in plant medicine and music.

This transformative period led to the development of Audio Alchemy, a method of music production inspired by Hermetic teachings that bridges the ancient art of alchemy with musical creation. Through workshops and retreats in Hawaii, the U.S., and Europe, Steven shared this unique approach with students.

In 2024, Steven published his first book, A Fool's Wisdom, which reexamines the modern scientific paradigm through an alchemical lens. The book became a #1 Best-Seller in Western Philosophy on Amazon US,

and a #1 Best-Seller in Philosophy of Science on Amazon UK.

Now based in Scotland with his wife and three children, Steven continues to expand his work at the intersection of science and spirituality, exploring alchemical philosophy

and the transformative power of sound and music.
